Shibori is a Japanese manual resist dying technique, which produces beautiful patterns on fabric. Learn basic ways of tying, pinching, and folding fabrics using rubber bands, clamps, pegs, and string, to create a one-of-a-kind organic cotton bandana! Participants will also explore the beauty of natural colour and be taught how to extract pigments from plants or food waste such as onion skins, turmeric, black tea, carrot tops or avocado pitch to dye their shibori-bandana. No experience necessary, all supplies included.
